Greetings Friends!
My name is Vanessa Sampson-Schneider. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, a National Board Certified Counselor, and a Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work Couples Program Leader**.

About Me
I am a queer-identified African American cisgender woman. My pronouns are she/her. I have engaged in extensive training to effectively treat mental health and substance abuse in LGBTQIA2S+ persons (sex positive and kink affirming), BIPOC and other PGM, femme-identified persons, active-duty military personnel, and veterans. I primarily work with clients age 18+, but I will work with teens, ages 15-17, on a case-by-case basis.
I provide in-person counseling services to individuals and couples, at Grimes Effective Counseling, located in Huntersville, North Carolina. I also offer telehealth counseling to individuals and couples located in North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida, via Headway.

I provide Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Feminist Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to individual clients. I am trained to provide Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS) to individuals that are at risk of suicide. I utilize the Gottman Method for counseling couples.

My goal is to create a safe and secure environment where we can effectively collaborate and strengthen emotional connection, one part at a time.
I am looking forward to working with you.

**Please note that I am not an employee of the Gottman Institute and offer the Seven Principles Couples Program independently.**
